Chef Carlos passion for the culinary industry started at the age of fourteen when, along with his youngest sister, prepared what seemed to be gourmet dishes for his family.
Later on, while attending his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, at the University of Puerto Rico, he worked at the Intercontinental Hotel, and the renowned San Juan Hotel and Casino in Puerto Rico where he started to familiarize himself with the industry's top of the line service.
After relocating to Florida in 2003, he continued developing his front and back of the house skills at the Four Season Hotel in Miami, FL.
In 2008 he decided to relocate to Providence, RI to option a culinary degree at the renowned Johnson and Wales University. There, he had the opportunity to be trained and work side by side some of the Country's most experienced and renowned chefs.
After graduating with honors, he relocated to Tampa and started working his way towards developing his own business.
Teaming up with his wife, Chef Marie, a new adventure in their lives began to develop and in April, 2012, Hands on Sweets was born.
